The New Horizon Center, a Learning Through The Arts (LTTA) educational institution, provides internship opportunities for graduating seniors or fresh graduates seeking international experience in a variety of LTTA fields. Teaching Artists in such fields as drama, music, film, visual art, photography, painting, storytelling, creative writing, broadcasting, poetry, etc. are kindly invited to join NHC for either a short term or long term internship. In addition, students interested in English language teaching and seeking an international experience will also be considered for such internships.
NHC is a new LTTA center which has been working with young audiences in Tunisia. Teaching artists such as the famous Jazz Chant Creator, Carolyn Graham, and the brilliant storyteller, Leila Buck, have lately visited the center and conducted LTTA workshops. In order to expand and offer opportunities for experienced and novice international candidates, NHC would like to invite YOU to consider sending internship candidates for Summer 2016.
The successful candidate will be working with small groups of young children or young adults for intensive arts-based sessions with specific learning outcomes. While the content may range from language arts to sciences, it is highly recommended that the teaching tool be based on any arts form. You could, for instance, offer a language learning session through a musical, a play, a short film, etc. You may also choose to teach history through broadcasting or creative writing.
NHC provides its interns with a rich package through which they will enjoy teaching, learning, and cultural touring. Thus, most short term and long term programs would include a session with young learners, a language session for the intern, and a cultural tour which highlights most historical and cultural sites of old Carthage, that is modern Tunisia. As for accommodation, NHC offers its interns three options: (i) living within the premises, (ii) staying with a host family, and (iii) renting a hotel room. Finally, the internship period is also flexible and may range from 10 days to 6 months, depending on the institution requirement and the interns’ needs.
